Conjunctivitis? Drops or leave alone?

DD (3) came home from nursery with a blob of gunk in her eye last night. Predictably she’s woken up and it’s like this. The other eye is gunkier than usual but not red. Is it conjunctivitis do you think? Pharmacy or cooled boiled water and leave alone? Thanks.

We just left and washed regularly. It cleared up in a day or so.

I would say pharmacy but that's partly because DS' nursery will only accept them back if they've got eye drops. I appreciate it's the weekend though so that may not be such an immediate concern!

Rarely needs drops and we are in serious danger of conjunctivitis becoming resistant.

Keep clean with cooled, boiled water and it will likely self clear.

Pain, sudden worsening or affecting vision then you see somebody but in the vast majority of cases, you don't need to do anything.
