Pre-schoolers and steroids

My ds was diagnosed with asthma at 11-months... he's currently been given steroids (alongside a nebuliser, inhaler - blue and brown - and antibiotics) for a chest infection and asthma flare up... he had his second dose of steroids about 3 hrs ago and he has gone totally feral! He's usually super lovely, he's currently throwing his toys around the room and I'm hiding in the toilet ! Any tips... a week of this seems like a long time 😳

Is he taking them once a day? They're a horrible, but necessary, medication but the side effects they have are hard to watch.

Yes, 3 tablets once a day...I'm trying to bring the timing forward to have a fighting chance at bedtime ! Poor little thing... but they are like a miracle for his breathing so that's the main thing

I think that's all you can do, move them as early in the day as you can. DD had regular courses as a child and I still remember how hard they were on her system.
