Hi All
good morning

after 5 years of trying and ivf we have a lovely girl born on 22nd September.
she is three weeks early , with placenta previa , c-section was performed at 37 weeks.

she looks very pink all over her body.

noticed this from day one. Thought will get better. But still seems not fading. We can see her normal skin tone in patches in face.

she had slight jaundice which got better by day 5.

asked midwife who did not seems concerned ( any way midwife is not much helpful)

We are very worried to see if this will go away
Dr Google is showing search results for polycthemia

it will be great if anyone can share any insights please

thanks in advance

Hey, I saw your other post too where you said you took the baby to A&E recently regarding this.

I would keep an eye on it and see if it gets any better. Baby is only 9 days old and their colour changes lots in the first few weeks!

Not medically trained, but didn't want to read and not post. Congratulations

My now 23 year old son was exactly like this. We went to a horse show about 2 weeks after he was born, and the amount of people who scolded me and commented he looked sunburnt was unreal. I had to keep explaining he was born that way. After a few months he wasn't red anymore.

Thank you 😊
she was only 6lb when she was born and lost 9.7 percent weight. But last few days she gained 3 percent back. Sick of people saying, tiny baby. Pink color . Thanks for your kind words

My ds was born at average weight but appeared very red. I asked the midwife's and health visitors and all said it was Normal. It did reduce after 2-3 weeks. He's 9 months old now and no issues.

Thank you 😊. Will check with midwife today

All test results are normal. Bilurubin value is 69. It is over three weeks now and face is still very red
