Braces - options help

DD12 is having braces fitted on her top teeth tomorrow

She is missing her second tooth, between her front tooth and eye tooth.

She has two options:
a) create a space between the two teeth and have a bridge inserted (implant when she is older) or
b) close the gap and file her eye tooth down

Dentist and orthodontist say she is a candidate for both treatment options.

We have received conflicting advice about which route to take from dentist 1 (our dentist) and dentist 2 (family friend)

Option a - pros are it is quicker, other teeth remain in original position
Option b - pros are that there is no implant/bridge to maintain throughout her life

Does anyone have any experience of making this decision?

a) ime looks better

You should be guided by the orthodontist rather than the 2 dentists.

Thank you. I thought the orthodontist would guide us, but she said we need to make the decision with the dentist. Am planning on discussing with her again in the morning
