Lansoprazole and nutrimigen silent reflux help!

My 5 week old baby has been diagnosed with silent reflux along with suspected CMA (chronic constipation since a week old and doesn’t poop on his own at all). He was prescribed lansoprazole and nutrimigen (he is mainly BF with occasional bottle or top up) and I have excluded all diary from my diet. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of crying and general fussiness after putting their baby on lansoprazole? I’ve noticed that after I give him this he screams for nearly the whole day (I thought this was supposed to help!) and we are at our whits end. Does it get better and maybe he is just adjusting to this medication? I also haven’t noticed an improvement in reflux symptoms and he has been taking the lansoprazole for over a week now, does this take time to work? Any help or experience much appreciated!

Hi, Lanzoprazole isn't commonly used for babies I don't think. Most are on Omeprazole. Could you possibly ask the doctor to change if he's less settled now?

Mine was on Omeprazole from 6 months, but he was tiny - 5kg at 6 months old. He also had silent reflux. It did have an effect - it's a long time ago now but almost immediately I think and definitely after a week. It also didn't make him cry more or be more unsettled.

Have you tried a soother/dummy? It's really helpful for refluxy babies to be able to suck. Once mine found his fingers to suck, it calmed him a lot.
