What could this mark be on my child's face

This mark appeared during school. She has no recollection of it happening which I'd have thought she would if it was a graze / an injury

Could it be something like ringworm? Would that show up so clearly over the school day.

I'm a bit stumped.

Impetigo?

Impetigo?

That’s what I was going to suggest

BergamotMouse · 16/09/2022 20:04

Thanks. Will get a doctors appointment if it doesn't seem to be on the mend. Will end up being Tuesday now unless it's something a pharmacist can help with?

If it's impetigo then it can spread fast, so I'd go and talk to a pharmacist. I wouldn't wait until Tuesday.

BergamotMouse · 16/09/2022 20:10

Ok, I will do tomorrow. Thought since treatment is antibiotics it needed a GP.

NHS advises seeing (or speaking) to a GP.

It's a cream, so you might be able to access it from a pharmacy, @BergamotMouse.

BergamotMouse · 16/09/2022 20:23

Have just asked a pharmacist in the family and they say since antibiotic will need a GP but if it hasn't spread by morning probably isn't impetigo. It's been like this since yesterday after school and not spread.

It might just be a graze that she got doing something stupid and she doesn't want to admit to how it happened.

To me it looks like a scratch. There’s three lines in it . Just a thought ,

hewouldwouldnthe · 16/09/2022 20:30

looks like a graze. impetigo has yellow blobs in it.

PinkButtercups · 16/09/2022 20:33

Looks like a friction burn from a carpet or something like that.

ForensicFlossy · 16/09/2022 20:37

It looks like a graze to me. My dh had one last week from diving in to the sea.

BergamotMouse · 16/09/2022 20:53

Phew, I'm back in the graze camp. Hopefully that's all it is.
