Covid temperature for 8 days

My preschooler has covid and has had a temperature for 9 days. Is this normal or should I call the GP?
Tested positive last Thursday but temperature arrived last Tuesday

Should say 8 days not 9

My youngest had a temperature for the full 10 days, it did worry me but it did settle eventually.
