Weeing every 5 minutes

I have started potty training my 2 and a half year old - largely because she was asking to wear pants and not wanting to wear a nappy.

The issue I am having is she is using the potty every 5 minutes, and she is actually doing a wee each time. It just doesn’t seem right to go that often…. Could there be something else going on?

If anyone has any thoughts I’d be grateful.

thanks

Is she getting a reward each time? Could she be holding it to deliberately to gain more rewards? Any sign of pain that could point to a urine infection?

Thanks for replying -yes we are giving her a reward each time so she could be doing that (and it wouldn’t surprise me). It just seemed like such a lot that she is passing (even if she is holding)

Is it early days? My little girl did loads of wees to start with, I think it took time for her to get used to the sensations and know to fully empty her bladder.

Yes same experience as PP! It will get less frequent xx

Yes we are only 2 days in so very early days. My son didn’t have this issue so I was a bit worried.

Hopefully she will learn to empty her bladder soon- so I don’t have to keep emptying the potty!

Thank you all - I feel much more reassured now.
