3 year old fell and cut her forehead, the doctor couldn't get her in to see her so called the pharmacist (?) pharmacist said it doesn't seem to need stitching just antiseptic and a dressing.
Done all that but I've got family saying they think it needs gluing.
At a push I can get her somewhere (no car, nearest place 30 mins away and no help)
But I'm torn. Taking a few children with me on a Friday night to an emergency place for what seems to be a small cut. That being said I don't want to get it wrong, i have limited experience with cuts and I took the pharmacists advice but now im in real doubt.
She's totally happy playing at the moment, no other issues from this
It's only been a couple of hours so I still have time if needed to try and sort something out

Photo would help

I would probably get that looked at to reduce scarring.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 26/08/2022 17:32

As the skin doesn't meet (i.e. there's a significant gap between the edges of the cut) I would pop her down to A&E/Minor injuries, think it needs steri-stripping at the least.

badg3r · 26/08/2022 17:32

I would put a steristrip on it

Sux2buthen · 26/08/2022 17:33

Can I get steri strips myself?

Sorry if that's a stupid question

Take her the 30mins to get it sorted.

SoupDragon · 26/08/2022 17:35

Minor Injuries are good for that kind of cut.

Sux2buthen · 26/08/2022 17:35

I'm on it

Can I get steri strips myself?

You can. I used to keep them in the first aid box after DS2 kept injuring himself.

Huntswomanonthemove · 26/08/2022 17:36

Steri strips from Boots, or other chemist but personally I would want that looked at in minor injuries.

SoupDragon · 26/08/2022 17:37

Minor Injuries might put some glue on before putting seri strips on

LightsDownLowDancingSlow · 26/08/2022 17:40

They might do something to close the gap better to reduce scarring. I’d probably take her to be honest but I feel your pain with with the wait and other kids.

My son always seemed to save his falls and injuries for Friday night when you were hoping to relax. Kids! Hope she’s ok.

Sux2buthen · 26/08/2022 17:44

Thanks, it's not the wait it's the travel to get there and drunk people etc scaring them or whatever. Still trying to find help to take her

Just to update she ended up being glued, most uncooperativelyGrinit was quite an experience but all taken care of.

The joys of parenting ‘uncooperative’ toddlers. 😂 Glad to hear she’s all sorted and shes ok.
