My 8 year old's feet hurt!

For the last few months on and off, my DS says that his feet are hurting, sometimes in the evening or sometimes after a day at school. It is his mid-sole. We always replace his shoes when he grows out of them and he spends most of his time at home bare-footed. I mentioned it to the assistant when he was being fitted for new school shoes the other day and she suggested that this was probably due either to hishaving a high arch or to having flat feet. I honestly can't tell by looking. Is there any point in my taking him to the GP? Or we could fund a private podiatrist if appropriate.

Responses from parents whose DC have gone through similar would be welcome.

Thanks for reading!

I've gone through similar myself and have flat feet. You can get custom made insoles.

I’d take him to a podiatrist.
