Hiya, my daughters father doesn’t bother with her and isn’t on her birth certificate, he doesn’t help towards her at all, she’s now 1 I had £20 for the first month it then stopped,

because he’s not on her birth certificate am I entitled to apply for CM?

he doesn’t text/ call to see how she is.

i know where he works and his address/ contact number.

Has anyone gone about this way with the child’s father not being on BC and how long did this take to sort out?

Yes you can still go through cms even if he's not on birth certificate. Just call them and give them all the information u can.

As he's not on the birth certificate he could deny that the child is his but in that case they wouldn't just take his word for it he would be told that a DNA test would need to be done if he's denying the child is his and if that comes back that they are his biological child then he would be the one to pay for the DNA test taken.

It costs £20 to set up a cms claim for them to calculate the amount your child is due. You can call them and get advice or ask questions before deciding wether to pay the £20 and pursue it further.

Is he employed or self employed?

You can go through the CMS even if he’s not on the birth certificate. If he says he’s not the father I think they do a DNA and he’ll have to pay for it if he is.

Get what your daughter is owed.

Thank you all, I’ve paid the £20 to cms for them to sort everything out, he will more than likely try to contest it but though we’ve struggled long enough while he’s living the highlife

fingers crossed, thank you all
