Pain and diarrhoea

9yo has just told me he's had loose movements since last Thursday. Said he gets a pain in his waist (his words) and then soon after needs to go to the loo (not urgent like diarrhoea but he gets the pain and then knows he needs to go to the loo if that makes sense) and it's loose when he goes. He said it's happened 3/4 times a day since last Thursday. Pain goes after going to the loo.

Otherwise is fit and well and no concerns. Hasn't mentioned anything at all until just now so he's been doing activities as normal - riding his bike, tennis, football etc and said he doesn't feel poorly so I don't think it's a bug, even more so with the length of time he said it's been happening.

Any suggestions?

Plain foods like scrambled eggs, bread, crackers and plenty of fluids

If it's been a week I'd probably phone the gp

Scrambled eggs and bland diet tomorrow. The BRAT diet will give you ideas. If nothing changes, call GP. Maybe some kefir could help if he has had a bug or eaten something dodgy
