How often should baby poo?

Hi, not sure if posted in right place, still very new to mumsnet and being a mum!
My baby is 11 weeks old and formula fed, he seems to poo every 3-4 days but when he does go he explodes and it goes everywhere, he doesn’t seem to have trouble passing wind as he farts a lot (his farts are quite smelly as well, wasn’t sure if that’s normal?) but he also strains on days he doesn’t poo and seems uncomfortable like he wants to push it out but nothing happens.
Is this normal for a formula fed baby? I know they don’t poo as often as breastfed babies.
Thanks!

This should be helpful, and there's a support line: www.nct.org.uk/baby-toddler/nappies-and-poo/newborn-baby-poo-nappies-what-expect

@PeriodBro thank you. I’ve given it a read but it only goes up to when baby is 6 weeks. As a newborn he would poo more regularly. It seems to be the past 3/4 weeks he’s started this pooing every few days, I didn’t know if it was his formula but we haven’t changed it since birth.
