Ear infection

just wondering if anyone has had similar and had any advice. My son (9) and I are abroad on holiday, just a week. He didn’t have a great flight as his ear was hurting. He never complains but was quite upset so when we arrived I had to take him to the doctors. After looking the doctor gave us ear drops & antibiotics, 80 euros lighter!. Now the worst part for my son (and me as I have to watch him) was he said he couldn’t go under the water for 3/4 days. It sounds bad but this has really upset my son, he’s got in with it but he’s not enjoying himself anywhere near as much as he would normally. So, we’ve done 2 days, would he be ok now 🤔or would that be irresponsible of me? Should we do 1 more day & then let him enjoy as normal? So conscious as we’ll soon be going home. I did ask if he could use an ear cover but the doctor said no.
just wondered what you think?

Honestly I wouldn't risk it, ear infections can be screamingly painful, if he isn't in agony he's probably got a mild one, I really wouldn't risk it getting worse especially when you have a flight home to consider.

Don't risk it. You don't mess around with infections
