Chicken pox contact

How long did it take for your children to come out in spots after contact with someone with chicken pox?

My friend’s little boy has got chicken pox and the day before his spots appeared my children had been playing with him. This was two weeks ago but I have read it can be up to 21 days before they come down with it. They are meant to be going away next week with my parents and I am worried that they will come down with it.

Also did you notice any signs before? I’m worrying that every little complaint means they’re coming down with it.

DD had a slight temp and cold symptoms 8 days after close contact, spots appeared 2 days later

When my dd had it, ds got spots about 15 days later

My dd caught it from school and DS spots appeared 15days later.

DS was 19 days after DD

Thanks everyone. Looks like there’s a good chance they could still get it then.

DD5 has been vomiting last night and this morning so wondering if this is the start or an unrelated bug.
