Hi there. I have a little boy who is 6 yrs old. He has been having issues with his bowel. He is constantly soiling himself. Noticed when he started the next class last September but was putting it down to them not going to the toilet often enough in school. I have brought it up with the school several times and they assure me they get plenty of time. However it is still happening even now during the holidays. I have made an appointment but it's not until next week. It's now happening several times a day and he doesn't even know it's happened and it's not just a small amount. I rly don't know what else to do for him

Does he currently wear underpants or pull ups? Might help with the soiling and containment side of things. The fact it's going on a number of months will be why the GP won't rush to see you. In their eyes well you've left it this long it can wait another week.

Most often a side effect of constipation. Have a look at www.eric.org.uk

Have you been to the GP? He needs to have his tummy palpated & your GP can assess next steps. If it is encopresis your LO will have no control over the smearing. This definitely needs attending to, horrible to be sitting in dirty pants at school.
