Hi all wondering if anyone is either in the same position or has recently been.

My daughter is approaching 20months and still isn't walking. She will weight bare and cruise but has never crawled and gets around by bum shuffling/ walking holding our hands.

She has been seen by hvs, docs and currently having physio although this has been pretty rubbish due to staff sickness etc .

She's never loved tummy time and we know the main issues are balance /confidence. It's just really affecting me daily now I feel so down and sad that she isn't walking.

I just feel like it will never happen and I will just be absolutely gutted if she still isn't walking by 2 .

Has anyone been in a simular position?

Many thanks
x

Apparently I was really late walking, mum tells me I was 20 months. I have a friend who was told he was over 2 - neither of us have any disabilities

My DD didn't walk till 19 months. She clearly had no physical reason for not walking. She just wasn't interested in doing so. She is now 19 and perfectly healthy. She just likes to do things in public only once she's good at them. When she did start walking at 19 months she walked perfectly and skipped the toddling and falling over part that my ds did.

If she can weight bear and nothing diagnosed
Just be patient
Two dc with hypermobility both walked age 24 months .

Has the physio checked for hyper mobility?
It can mean they are late to walk.
They should be checking.
My DD didn't walk until 23 months , now 4 you wouldn't know!
It's just a flexibility in joints.
We were told to put boots on her and it helped her get up and put her foot down, she used to walk on her toes.
I would question this next time you go

My DS didn't walk until he was 22 months. I got him checked out and there was nothing wrong. Within a day of him starting to walk, you would have thought that he had been walking forever. I remember the worry though, out of everyone I knew, there was only one person who's baby had walked that late. He was also late to crawl, about 13 months. My MIL claimed that my DH first walked on his second birthday, so there could be a family history element.
