Noisy breathing through nose

My 6yo DS makes a whistling, bunged up sound when breathing through his nose. When he's eating, it's obvious that he can't breathe properly as he keeps stopping chewing to take a breath. It's not so obvious at night as he mouth breathes then.

There is no mucus and this has been going on for a few months now.

Any ideas?

I am still like this....got a damaged septum - might be worth a trip to the docs to check it out

Was also coming on to say deviated septum.
When you look up his nose does it look like both sides are the same size?
Is his nose croooked?

Enlarged adenoids or deviated septum maybe

Well that was interesting..
I shined a torch up there for the first time and there was a massive scab thing attached to the inside of his nose!
He had impetigo a few weeks ago and I reckon it was from that as it was all over his top lip and nostrils.
I used a wetted cotton bud to tease it out and now he's breathing normally 😂
I've no idea why he didn't just pick his nose like other kids. He did say it hurts though.
