Conjunctivitis with blood - can this wait until Monday? (Includes pic)

My toddler has had a bad cold for a week or so, along with the conjunctivitis she usually gets when unwell. I haven't been too worried as we've been here many times before, but this morning she had a little bit of dried blood around her eye. Is this urgent, or can I wait until the GP opens on Monday?

Not a medic but I have been told in the past that any unexplained bleeding out of an orifice needs to be investigated urgently. Personally I would ring 111.

I’d ring round your local opticians and see if someone there could take a look.

I’d ring 111. There’s blood where there shouldn’t be.

Has she scratched it ?

Dd had this when she was 18 months. Turned out to be a strep b infection which needed multiple types of antibiotics to clear.

It was reportable, and the GP looked rather panicked when he was telling us

I'd get it checked - it's a bad place to have an infection

Her eye looks very red and inflamed, Is there a OOH centre close by? Or a Primary care clinic. You could bathe it with cooled boiled water in the meantime.

Thanks everyone - now waiting for a call back from OOH GP. These things always happen at a weekend don't they!
