Uncomfortable Penis

Sorry for the direct title
DS (9) is complaining that his penis is a bit uncomfortable. He says it’s the tip/just inside.
its not sore, just uncomfortable. He says if he touches it/ it touches his clothes when he moves that’s when it feels uncomfortable, but if he sits still it’s fine.
i can’t see anything wrong, he says he can’t either.

When I google it says if it’s an infection there will be a smell or discharge or something but there isn’t.
or that it’s a uti - but he’s peeing as normal and it doesn’t hurt more when he pees

he’s circumcised (please don’t flame me it was medical) so unlikely to get thrush and he doesn’t have any other symptoms of thrush that I can see.
We saw a dr a week ago who said ‘just wait and see’ and come back in a week, but it’s been two weeks total (maybe a bit longer) and It’s not getting any worse or any better. In the last few days we’ve tried some eczema cream because he suffers with that in other places, but it’s made no difference.

struggling to get a new drs apt but I’d like to go back with some suggestions because he seemed like he had no idea what it was when we spoke to him last.

Could it be just the glans rubbing on his clothes? Or it could be without going into too much detail he is getting to the age where boys start to explore themselves and he may have over it. If there is nothing medically wrong with him it is all I can think of. Hope you sort it soon.

( Over done it ) Missed the done from post above.

Hmm i think where it is it’s not from that
and, he’s only 9!!! Maybe I’m being naive….
i think he’d have seemed more embarrassed to tell me
though if that was the case

i thought it was clothing or washing powder, tried looser and tighter boxers and a change of washing powder and he’s not noticed a difference. It’s still the same, getting no worse and no better.
at least another week to wait for an appointment with the gp.

Sudocream, I mean it may be a real issue or growing related but Sudocream really does seem to solve all this type of issues on girls and boys

has he been circumcised long?

Cluelessmouse · 09/08/2022 10:46

Yeah a while, but it’s the very top where he pees from that’s uncomfortable. But I’m fairly confident it’s not a uti as it’s not changing when he pees, he doesn’t feel like he needs to pee more and surely it would’ve gotten worse by now.

Has he had an injury down there in the past?

Cluelessmouse · 10/08/2022 14:55

Never before no.

managed to get a call with a dr today, he suffers from eczema and they’ve said it could be related.

Having read the thread sorry if I repeat.

What's his urine like? Anything abnormal what colour is it? Is it cloudy? Have him pee in a bottle or glass and inspect. My thoughts are he maybe have kidney stones although he's got no other stated symptoms he could have stones get caught in his urethra (where pee comes out of the penis). Does he have any pain in the rest of the urethra down his penis?

Does he wash himself or do you help? Have him sit in the bath maybe and soak it.

I know form my oldest now 14 we had an issue not long ago where his glad was sore to anything like underwear or even a towel after the shower. He's not circumcised but his forskin doesn't cover the glad. He was 11 at the time so we put it down to puberty and it getting sensitive. Now he has no issues at all.

Anyways I hope that helps a little

Have you sorted it out yet? If so what was causing it I am interested to know.
