My dd had her appendix out first night of the summer holidays (although been off poorly).
Now I’m stuck with what too do. Luckily was laparoscopic surgery although the scars are still quite big but she is only 6! She has asd and unable to tell us her pain (took a ct scan to work out where her infection was coming from and didn’t moan about the pain in her stomach, surgeons were shocked too!).
we are on day 6 and everyone seems to be shocked when I say she is still
taking it easy. I feel I can’t make any plans as parks/soft play and theme parks seems to not be a great idea until 4 weeks post op. In my mind any way. However everyone is literally like why have you not been out 🤦🏼‍♀️. I was told 2-3 weeks no baths/swimming and 4 weeks no excessive exercise. But she has asd and won’t listen at a park if I say take it easy and she can’t feel when she has pushed her self to far, she has siblings too that want to go out. Even bike rides I’m thinking to wait 4 weeks after op? What does everyone else think. We are bored 😂. However I don’t want her poorly esp as she can’t tell if it hurts or any idea if she is pushing her self to far. Then there are other kids accidentally hitting her in the stomach. 🤦🏼‍♀️. Is 4 weeks too long, as my friends seem to be pulling a face when I say she has been taking it easy for a week. She also loves swinging when can she do this again? It’s really difficult for me to tell as she we swing past being uncomfortable actually she gets blisters from the swings . She doesn’t have the best co ordination either so falls over a lot. Honestly I feel like I’m going made because all my friends are literally like why isn’t life going on as normal now 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
