Toenail help

syda · 18/07/2022 11:10

My toddler has all of a sudden got brown discolouration on his big toenail. I havent noticed that he has hurt it, but could it likely be due to trauma to the toe (stubbing it or has dropped something on it?)?
Google unfortunately gave some possible options which included melanoma etc.

Think it's worth getting checked out or its just a stubbed toe?

Thanks!

Is that not very swollen, it looks it from the photo. Did he bash it and it's a bruise?

His toe doesnt look swollen compared to his other foot...
If it was just a bruised nail any ideas how long it would take to go away? Thanks Biscuit

It can take up to a year for a bruised nail to grow out... but his toenails look very small

Is his other big toenail the same size as that one? It looks very small. Is it possible that he dropped something on it and part of the nail came off?

It can take months for a nail to grow out!

Thank you all for the replies xx

His other big toenail looks to be of similar size, I guess he just has small nails, here's a picture of the other foot.
