6 month old sudden bruises

I noticed a bruise this morning on my ds arm. I can’t recall him hurting himself (he’s not mobile only rolling) however he did have his arm stuck in the cot bars the other day and he does roll around quite hard so it didn’t seem too unexplainable.

however my dh just pointed out two yellow bruises at the bottom of his back on the bony part side by side just above his bum. Now I’m concerned as I have no idea how he could have them there. I’ve never noticed a bruise on him and suddenly he has three? He’s not showing any signs of distress and seems completely happy and normal.

do I phone my gp? I know neglect is something that will be questioned with a baby so young with bruises but of course we have nothing to hide so this isn’t an issue, I’m more worried in case it’s a symptom of some underlying illness?

can anyone think how he could get two bruises on the bottom of his back next to each other? It’s almost like he’s been laid on something that’s bruised him…

help!! Worried :(

Is it only you that cares for him? Is he in childcare at all? Also maybe try Google pics for how old the bruises are to pinpoint when it may have happened. Most likely a very logical explanation that you’ve not thought of: much more likely than a rare Illness!

@Battybonkers no it’s just me and dh and then occasionally my mum or close family that will have him. They are yellow so I think they are old but I never noticed them before they were yellow.

when I was bathing him this evening I did think his bath seat looked a little un comfortable and possibly the plastic back could have caused the back bruises as he sits a bit awkwardly in it.

so strange I guess il just see if anymore come up!

@BlondieR22 my little boy was the exact same at 6/7 months! It drove me mad, especially when my friend had a little boy 3 weeks younger and he never seemed to bruise at all, i was constantly worried but he was always well in himself.

I did take him A&E once as he had a bruise on his bum and was also really unwell, they did a blood test and everything come back fine.

Hes 19 month now and still same 🙈
