My LG is FF, she’s always been fussy feeding
We have recently gone on Neocate for suspected CMPA and omeprazole for reflux.

She is only taking an ounce or two then crying and its a struggle to get her to have any more.

Very worried.

You're not alone - prescribed formula is utterly vile and a lot of babies refuse it. I add a few drops of vanilla essence to mine in an attempt to take the edge off but still only average two or three ounces at most per feed. I do have to syringe some formula in just to gain the weight.

Keep going, I'm sure you're doing a great job.

What was her birthweight, @Catchingrainbows ? Also how has her weight gain been?

You sound like you're doing all the right things. Feeding little and often is good and omeprazole was effective for us (but didn't solve all the problems). Could you look into a thickner maybe for her milk. Years ago we used "thick and easy" but there may be better things now. It's so stressful, that feeling of them just not feeding enough.

I'm not sure about adding vanilla essence though - mine has an alcohol base! Back in the day I was told by the dietician to add "crusha" milkshake base but my baby was over 6 months when he was put on neocate. I didn't - I think I just added a bit of sugar. Agree it's revolting!

@LatinForTelly her birth weight was 6lb 11 and shes on the 9th centile, which she has been maintaining.

I am almost certain that she may have a bottle aversion and I have been trying the Rowena Bennet approach and have seen subtle improvements over the last few days.

She doesn’t always cry when in a feeding position now, doesnt always cry after a feed. But still shows conflicted behaviour and she’s taking around 18 - 20 oz in a day at the moment, which she seems contented on.

Hoping the volumes increase .

But hopefully moving in the right direction at the moment
