Recurrent fleeting croup cough

My 2 year old has had about four or five extremely brief episodes of a croup-like cough over the past 6 months. Typically they have occurred in the middle of the night or first thing, last literally 5-10 minutes and then she is absolutely fine. No other symtoms. It has then been weeks/months later that another one occurs. Definitely a croup-like cough, we're not talking a chesty or dry one. It's so distinctive and quite upsetting to her when it's happening. Can anyone shed any light on what might be going on?

Hi, did you ever get any answers to this? I hope you see this as my 2 yo son is going through the same.. I'm so anxious and worried!

Hi, well she’s nearly 5 now and it hardly happens any more. Saw a GP who was reassuring and said it was most likely nothing, just the airway narrowing briefly. I stopped panicking and just monitored to make sure it didn’t persist and she wasn’t becoming distressed. It rarely lasted more than 20 minutes so never had cause to take her to hospital. I hope that helps although obviously please seek your own medical advice!
