High temperature

My 4yo DS has been running a temperature since Friday - 38.8 - 39 degrees. Its been constantly spiking since then, it only comes down with Calpol and as soon as it starts wearing off before the next dose it's creeping back up. His only other symptoms are a bad head and he's complained of his throat / chest hurting. I've done a covid test which was negative also. A few I've spoken to have said to contact the doctor due to him having a temperature for 4 days. If he needs to see a doctor of course I'll cart him off straight away but I wasn't sure if his symptoms warrant a visit. Any opinions?

Tonsillitis
Chest infection

He may need AB so I'd ask for an app

He had strep throat. Managed to get an emergency appointment and he's now on antibiotics for a week. I also caught it off him so I'm on them too 😔
