Chicken pox??

My 8 year old had about 8 spots on her chest and tummy yesterday afternoon, saw them in the bath, little bit itchy she said. Today they are still there and an additional 4 on chest and arm.
she had chicken pox badly at 2.5 years old, totally smothered Head to toe, confirmed as pox by nursery and pharmacists.
could it be pox again? They don’t seem blistery or ‘filled’ just raised light red spots. Not bothering her and she’s fine in herself.
pics attached.
many guesses if it’s another dose of pox? Or ideas of what it could be?
not sure what to do!

Unlikely to be CP again especially as she had it so badly the first time. Certainly looks like it though, doesn't it?!

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor That’s what I thought! Would be terribly unlucky. Especially as my other child has never had them!!

My child has just had chicken pox for the second time. I'll post a pic of how their spots started.

niki26 · 02/07/2022 08:54

Sorry, that isn't very clear! I'll add another pic.

This was beginning of the day and the end of the day.

I’m still hanging on to hope they are just bites or something. She was in the park for hours yesterday, climbing trees hiding in bushes etc so I’m living in hope but suspicious

Still absolutely covered in spots and missed her last two weeks of year 1. She started with a fever of 38.8 and a snotty nose on the Monday night. Calpol perked her up! She was off school on the Tuesday and just slept a lot. I thought she'd be back in school on the Wednesday but she kept going downhill at nighttime's and was so tired. Thursday morning she had some spots on her face. I thought it couldn't be chickenpox as she's already had it (albeit mildly before!) but by lunchtime there were more spots. I did an online doc appointment and the confirmed chickenpox!

That night she was covered in spots. Just got worse over the next few days. Kept appearing for days! All crusted over now but look horrid and sore.

I never thought I'd say this but I really hope it's insect bites for your daughter!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/07/2022 09:05

Perhaps give her some Piriton and see if they improve?

Senso21 · 02/07/2022 09:22

Wow, so sorry she’s suffering so much. Wishing her better x
