2 week old has green slimy poop!

Hi all, I think (hope?) I know the answer to this but I’d like some reassurance (or otherwise) please.

My newborn is just over 2 weeks old and has been mostly breastfed with the exception of maybe 5 or 6 evenings where we have used formula when I went back to the hospital for a few check ups and triage.

anyway to cut a long story short, 2 days ago I finished a 6 day course of antibiotics. Half way through this course, LOs poops turned from normal yellow to a slimy green. We also noticed LO seemed more fussy than usual and a lot more windy. It also seemed more like diarrhoea than normal pooping.

I assumed this was down to the antibiotics and didn’t worry about it as LO seemed well otherwise. Now, though, it’s been nearly 48 hours since I stopped taking the antibiotics and LOs poo is still green and slimy… although the fussiness has eased.

What worries me is that the green poop might be a sign of my LO having caught chicken pox off my 4 year old. I really hope not and I did start another thread on chicken pox in newborns so not wanting to duplicate what was said on there.

any ideas as to when we can expect the green poop to ease up if it is the antibiotics? Anyone else had this?

thank you xx
