Guys freaking out. We go on holiday Monday and I know chicken pox is going around atm although I don’t think my son had been in direct contact with anyone with pox he’s had a few spots come out on him. Would you say these are the start of chicken pox or just heat rash/lumps

It's hard to tell from the pictures. I thought chicken pox were more like blisters.

Impossible to say from those pictures I think. If it is you’ll definitely know before Monday. I hope it’s a false alarm

Sorry it’s trying to keep my son still long enough to get pictures 😂 I think I’m just overthinking and panicking that he’s gonna get them before I we go away x

They don’t look clear enough to be chicken pox spots (just gone through it with my two) but you will know in the next hour or so if they are as once they start coming out it happens really fast.

where are you off to on holiday? If it is chicken pox likelihood is the worst will be over by then. If it’s any consolation even my eldest who was completely pickled was back to his normal self and spots scabbed over after 5 days so it may not be so bad.

That looks like a little sweat rash to me, my DS runs hot and gets them sometimes. Nice cool bath and cotton pjs and it's usually gone in morning

Are they itchy at all?

Moby715 · 28/06/2022 20:13

I am no expert. My experience of chicken pox has been that other symptoms precede the spots. Temperature, feeling ill etc. so hopefully if there have been no other symptoms it’s just a rash of some sort.

Frankieswoffer · 28/06/2022 20:15

He’s had a cold runny nose ect but I’ve now got that so think that’s just a normal cold xxx

This is what I thought, I think I’m just panicking as I know it would put a stop on our holiday that we have all been looking forward to so much. I mean these have been like this now for the past 5 hours and haven’t got any worse so I think it probably is just heat rash xxx

My daughter had one tiny red pimple last Thurs morning and by the afternoon had loads of chicken pox spots, so I think they come out really quick. You'll know for definite by morning!

My twins have just had chicken pox. The spots first appear looking like little blobs of water before blistering. I don't think that's it. Here's a pic of how they started for us and the difference overnight.
