Vaccine holes

Hi,

So my baby had first vaccines today, I've taken the cotton wool off and noticed 2 holes at the injection site, and a purple line connecting the 2 as if the needle went in and out. attached 2 images

Does this mean the vaccine wouldn't have been given properly and should I contact the surgery to let them know

Did they give 2 vaccines in that leg?

It's an intramuscular injection so it wouldn't be able to go in and out like that as the needle goes in at a 90 degree angle.
It also looks way too long line for an IM needle.

Is that not a mark from a drop of blood that formed at the vaccine site, that was wiped away and happened to end up at the other site? Can you wash it off?

No, just one injection in the leg, she did jerk her leg as it went in so not sure if it somehow messed up

I agree there's no way a needle would go in at that angle.

There were two blobs of blood, each covering both holes so definitely a little hole

Could the smaller mark be where baby has scratched herself? My little boy does that all the time x

In that case I would say that the top hole is where the needle hit as she jerked her leg and then the line is a scratch from that. The bottom hole is probably where the nurse went again and managed to give the injection.

Was it the 8 week vaccinations? If so two separate vaccinations are given so that would be why there were two holes.

Vaccines are given IM and so would definitely not come out the other end. Also the needles aren’t long enough for it to reach as far as the other hole in the picture.

The nurse probably gave 2 but was so quick you didn’t even notice.
