I was so tired this morning this is the first time this has ever happened, but I closed my eyes for five minutes whilst I thought baby was safe next to me, next thing he's sliding down off the bed where is attached cot ends and falls off the bed onto his back! He cried for a minute until his dummy went it, then he was totally fine and happy and seems okay. Should I still ring the doctors? I feel awful! :(

I'd say keep an eye on him but unless he's showing signs of being in pain don't bother with doctor. This happens to a lot of babies btw. Don't feel bad and don't worry. My son fell down between the car and the pavement once. Was awful but he was fine.

There's no need to phone the doctors if there's no signs of injury. Just keep an eye on him and don't be too harsh on yourself.

I would probably get him
checked, better to be safe than sorry and all that.

No need to ring Docs if he's OK.

Use the search function on here, you'll find loads of threads like this "Baby fell of bed/sofa" it happens. Don't be hard on yourself.

I think this happens to nearly every baby at some point. If he's fine he's fine and it was onto carpet, try not to worry. It's how they tell you they can roll now, they wait until you put them on a bed or sofa and try to roll off.

He will be fine, it happens to the best of us!

If it makes you feel any better, my dd had her high chair fall on her head when she was a baby. The high chair was still in its flat pack!

she screamed the place down, i did take her to the doctors and they said it was a good sign she cried, they’d be more concerned if she hadn’t.
