Chickenpox marks

Hi!

my son (1) had chickenpox, he has eczema which I think contributed to it being particularly bad especially all over his face. All of the blisters have dried out and scabbed over, and 80% of the scabs have now dropped off but they’ve left behind red marks (which I’m hoping aren’t scars!)

Does anyone have any advice on how to lessen these? More so because we have gotten abuse in random places like the supermarket for having him out in public even though he’s healed! TIA!! X

The redness fades away eventually but takes several months to a year. Any pitted scars stay, but do improve with time.
