My five week old son has a perianal abscess which he is currently taking amoxicillin for - he’s had five doses so far. We’re at hospital tomorrow to see if it needs surgery.
He’s done two poos in the past few hours which have been a strange consistency. When we pulled the poo apart (gross, I know - the joys of parenthood!) it was almost like the texture of paper or toilet roll…
Does anyone know what this might be a sign of? Could it be a side effect of the antibiotics?
On top of this, we are finding it really hard to settle him. He’s only sleeping for ten minutes at a time. He’s eating as normal (maybe a little hungrier than usual) and has been giving us the normal amount of wet nappies. He is formula fed if that helps…
