Fluctuating temperature

Ok can anyone shed any light on this. Using the Braun thermo scan ear thermometer. Sometimes if I take my DD's temp (she's nearly 2) it might read something like 37.9. Then if I take it a few minutes later I get a lower reading. Can a child's temp fluctuate like this? Could their body temp read higher from running around perhaps? I think her normal temp is around 37.3. Very confused and just looking for any insights! 🙄

I've always been advised not to use ear thermometers at home because they are unreliable.
