My son had his front top and bottom teeth removed at 2. He is just 7 now and his bottom teeth grew in about 8 months ago bit still waiting on the top!

My daughter had to have one of her top front teeth taken out when she was 5 after she had given it a nasty bash on the edge of a table and the root abcessed. Paediatric dentist said it won’t come in any quicker than if she had lost it naturally (her other one came out just before she was 7). Her bottom ones are coming in now, but no sign of either top one.

I’ve totally got used to the gap now and it will be really odd to see her with teeth there again. She is not remotely bothered (she did like getting five quid from the tooth fairy since it was a bit of a traumatic one). Only minor nuisance is having to cut up apples etc as she really can’t bite into them.

The front ones?
I seem to remember lots of gappy smiles at DSs 6th party. So, I'd guess somewhere between 6 and 7.

Mine is 6.5 and one of the last in their class to lose teeth. Top adult front teeth partially through. Some were losing them in Year 1. Everyone is losing them this year in Year 2, it seems!

I know a 4 year old (5 in September) who recently naturally lost a front bottom tooth and the adult tooth is coming through. She has a second one wobbly too. Not sure about if it wasn't a naturally lost one but just wanted to post to show the differences.

Both DC were 5. Hopefully your DD will have them soon.

DD's bottom front teeth came out within a week of each other at 5.5 years. Her adult teeth grew in very quickly after that.

Her top front teeth are wobbling now (6yo).

The first adult teeth to come through are the lower front two at around 6 years old. Then top front two at about 6.5/7.

Ds knocked a tooth out age 3. It's just come through and he's 6. He started getting new teeth age 5.

Should have said, I work in orthodontics.

So although there is obviously a range, the norm is that permanent teeth start erupting at around age 6.
