Interceptive treatment RME (Rapid palate expander - private) and then switching to NHS for stage 2 trratment

my son is 10 yo and he needs Rapid Palate Expander. NHS said that they would not do it under NHS. If I do it privately, then allow for adult teeth to grow - when he is 12, can we return to NHS for 2nd stage of treatment?
