Cold sore & blood test

I've posted about this a few days ago.

My little one has been in contact with a cold sore when my friend kissed him
( kissed his hands & head- but he was chewing on his hands after the kiss) - I didn't notice the cold sore until way after all of the above as she had makeup on

I'm really anxious that he's now got it & he's had health problems in the past where we had to be in hospital for weeks.
I don't want to ever be in that position again so I'm thinking maybe I can catch the virus before it shows?
Would it be worth if I ask my gp for a blood test? Do you think it would show in his bloods? I might give my gp a call later and see what he thinks. Or do you think this is a stupid request?

I think you need to see someone about your anxiety.

I'm sorry this happened. That was very selfish of your friend. There's really nothing you can do though. Hopefully he will be fine, but I think you'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully the fact she was wearing makeup may have created a barrier. If it's any reassurance, my DH suffers from cold sores. I have never caught it in over 20 years of being with him , nor have our 3 children. He's always been careful when he has a active one but there must have been times we have been exposed before he realised.

Thank you.
Will keep an eye on him for the next few weeks.
Hopefully he'll be ok 😞

Hello! I wondered if you managed to get a blood test? Is your little one okay? X
