Cafe au lait spots?

My 7 month old has this on her leg, and I think another developing on her forearm. I googled and I've scared myself that these spots can signify a presence of a disease called neurofibratosis?

My DD has a large one on her leg and a smaller one on her arm. They developed before she was one. Nothing since, she’s now 4 and totally fine.

They are more often than not, totally harmless. I remember scaring myself silly googling too.

My teenager has one on his knee. I always thought it was where I left him in the garden, as a baby. He was asleep in the shade and when I went back a few minutes later the sun was on his legs I'm relieved to know it probably wasn't my fault.

People with neurofibromatosis (NF) do have cafe au lait patches BUT not everyone with cafe au lait patches has NF. Don't panic but speak to your gp if you notice more or have any other concerns regarding your child's health or development.

I've got one of those on my leg. Mum says I got it when I was a baby. 48 now and completely fine.

Step away from the Google!!!!

I have two of these, appeared in days after birth.

I notice them about as much as I notice my naval. Never had any issues.

Quite fond of them really.
