Hi everyone. I’m on day five if a horrendous sickness and diarrhoea bug . Started feeling better two days ago, ate something yesterday and now feel rotten. My two year old is in day four if the sickness bug . We are struggling to get many fluids or food into her. Last time she had a sickness bug she was admitted to hospital .

my body feels weak so I imagine hers does too. We’ve stayed in bed for the last few days.

anything that can help us feel stronger and begin to feel better please

Can you get someone to bring diaroltye sachets.
And a syringe.
If you can syringe 5mls every 30 mins into the little one

Jelly is water. And ice lollies.

Just get what you can into her (and you). Flat coke or lemonade are worth trying. And the ultimate in cures for anything like this in our house, is red lucozade.

Plain, dry food, with some salt.

Dioralyte is sensible, but vile and I don't know how well she'll take to it. The sugar and alt combos of crisps and flat sugary drinks should do the same job, and if she can stomach a banana, that'd be good too.

Hope you're both better soon.

We had this a month ago. My daughter age 4 was the worst, she did not eat for almost 5 days. She slept for a solid 4 days. Rang Dr as she was only having sips and they said wake her regularly and make her have sips or her sugars could go too low. I went and got some non fizzy energy drinks and she had sips of that, she picked up after that.
