Toddler grey poo

Hi,just wondered if anyone has experienced their 2 year old having light grey poo? Happening for the last couple of days and smells awful, she's had a temp at the start of the week, but now absolutely fine in herself. She has CMPA and hasn't had any milk that we know off.
Is it worth speaking to someone about if it continues?

You should seek medical advice. Probably nothing but pale stool can be an indication of liver function problems. Call 111.

The recent hepatitis outbreak in children has flagged grey poo as a symptom: www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-61270609.amp (not trying to scare you and not suggesting it is hepatitis but definitely worth getting it checked out)

Thank you both, do you think it can wait till gp opens back up Tuesday? Or shall I give 111 a call?

Both my children have had grey poos on occasion after a virus. Usually stomach virus. The fact she’s had a temp and poo is foul smelling would make me inclined to think viral however if it continues I would definitely see a GP.

I would give 111 a call. Is there any yellow tones to her skin or eyes?

Cheesewiz · 30/04/2022 19:24

Sometimes post viral can effect poo colour, but to be on the safe side after the news about hepatitis I would definitely get you LO checked out by doctor

Definitely no yellowing of skin or eyes, ill get her checked out thank you, I hadn't heard about the hepatitis outbreak.

111 are great and will ask about symptoms to best advise. They may get you an out of hours gp appointment or ask you to wait until Tuesday. No harm in calling to check!
