111?

DD is 3 (and 3 months) and on Tuesday was taken ill with fever, shivers, headache, mild rash and 1 vomiting incident. 111 sent us to A&E where they did blood tests, blood culture and gave her IV antibiotics. Blood tests were clear and culture is due back tomorrow.

They treated her as if it was sepsis while they wait for the cultures.

She had IV antibiotics yesterday and today so 3 doses in total. When the nurse left today they said that was the last one but to go back to A&E if she had any more fever etc.

She's a lot brighter today but still tired and a bit off her food, though better than yesterday. She's drunk as normal today having soya milk, water and apple juice.

Thing is, she's only wee'd twice today. Once at 8am and one just now at 5pm. Neither were much. The one just now I basically had to take her to the toilet as she kept saying she didn't need it. We tried earlier today and she didn't wee and she did a poo at lunch but no wee then either.

I can't decide if I should ring 111 again or take her in. She seems a lot better, and NHS direct says over 12 hours to be concerned. I'm not sure if she would have got to that had i not actually put her on the toilet.

I can't decide if I'm over reacting and we should just keep an eye. It doesn't help that my cousin's husband died of sepsis almost 3 years ago to the day.

I would call, better to be safe than sorry I think!

If she is drinking lots and not weeing much then take her in.

I know if I ring they'll tell me to take her in.

It's so hard isn't it. I'm exhausted with the worry for her. She was so upset during her antibiotics today I was proper gulping back tears.

I feel super guilty about my eldest as well because all my focus has been on his sister. DH is trying to even it out by focusing on him.

I'll see if she does a wee before bed and make a call then.

I would because along with everything else not going for many wees can be concerning.

Panic over. Spoke to DH once she was in bed and he told me she'd done a wee at lunch time while I was with the plumber.

Phew
