Tibial torsion question

Bertsmyboy · 27/04/2022 23:52

After years of knee pain my son has been diagnosed with external tibial torsion and he's been advised to have surgery to break and rotate his legs. The research I've read is not clear about the best age for this surgery- some say the earlier the better and others that early adulthood is best. Has anyone's child had this surgery and what age were they? Would you recommend this surgery and did it reduce pain? Thanks

I should also have said the consultant told him he had miserable malalignment syndrome too which I thought he was teasing him about as he looked grumpy as he was sore but it's a real thing. Please tell me your stories.
