Hi my daughter is 3 years old and about 9 months ago I noticed a little lump on her right side rib cage which was really hard to touch but some days it would stick out more then others and when she's relaxing I can feel something moving a little bit, I was so worried obviously so I made a doctors appointment they had a feel and told me not to worry so much it's just the way her rib cage because she has (pectus excavatum) which means her chest goes inward's, I have been 5 times to be told the same thing I just can't seem to stop worrying about it but I feel like am getting no where with the doctor's. I just want to know if anyone as been threw the same with their little one advice would be amazing please,

Oh, I can feel how worried you are, but if you have been told repeatedly by the doctor that it is not something to worry about, I think you have to consider whether they are right.

If she has pectus evacatum does she has a condition (e.g. hyper mobility) that might raise her risk for scoliosis? That can appear as a rib hump. If you see a specialist for a hyper mobility syndrome, you could talk to them. I do this the GP should be referring you otherwise.
