DD missed the diphtheria, tetanus, polio and meningitis boosters in Year 9 - she was isolating when the school nurses went in.
Despite me constantly asking, the school nurse team are adamant that she can't be done with another group, she can't be done when they visit for other vaccinations (like when they were in doing covid vaccinations) and if I want it done, I need to arrange to take her to their hub. This is a good hour away, they are only open Mon-Thu 10-2 when she's in school, and the school day it would be an unauthorised absence. I'm self employed so this would cost me a day's pay - and can't be planned ahead far enough for me to arrange properly anyway.
The nurse at the GP says it has to be done by the school team.
Should I take this lack of interest by anyone concerned to mean that it doesn't really matter, she doesn't really need the booster? Should I be battling to force someone to do it in school? Will she just be fine until the next booster? Should / can I pay privately for it?
(And on a larger scale - are we going to have a large outbreak of these diseases if you think about how many must have missed it during covid?)
