Advice on chickenpox scabs?

Hi, DS1 (10 months) is 8 days into a nasty case of chickenpox, he's covered in them, thankfully they all seem to be scabbed. I've searched every website, forum etc to see if anyone knows what to do once they have scabbed, I.e do I still carry on with calamine/virasoothe or do I start moisturising? Really not sure what to do for the best, but terrified of doing the wrong thing as he has a LOT on his poor little face so I obviously want to avoid anything that may cause scarring

I left DS’s alone from the moment they scabbed over and despite having spots all over, he doesn’t have any scars now.

Thank you. It's so hard knowing what to do for the best! Can I ask how long it was before all the marks faded? I drive myself mad reading all sorts of stories.

It was a while and I think the last one took up to 18 months but they’ve definitely all gone, even though there were a few deep ones I really didn’t think would heal.

Thank you, suppose we'll have to give it time. I can already see a difference after a week but its the marks under the scabs I'm now worrying about, its broke my heart with the amount he has on his tiny body, such a nasty virus but at least it's out of the way now and hopefully never to be seen by him again.
