Can anyone help? My little boy just turned 2 and just isnt eating much at all. Hes dropped a whole centile in less than 3 months. If he drops another one he will be under the 9th. He just looks so skinny. Hes not due another weigh in via the HV team until June. Last weigh in was middle of March.

We give him a balanced diet and all the things he likes pasta, cheese, carrots, fruit, cereal, yogurt, wholemeal bread, chicken, fish fingers etc but he only eats a few mouths full.
He has at least an hour sat at the table with no distractions for every meal. We leave around 5 hours between each meal.
Hes not even interested much in snacks of fruit or a little kiddielicious apple bake or only has a bite or 2. Hes stopped drinking a lot of his milk as well. We offer him water as well.

He runs around all day and sleeps well but hes very cranky and grouchy during the day as well which I'm sure is down to him being hungry.
We are waiting for help via the HV team but I'm so worried about his weight loss as is my husband. I feel like I'm failing as a parent so badly right now but dont know what else to do to get him to eat.

Has anyone got any tips or tricks to get my son eating?

Im no expert but try little and often, leave snacks out in a bowl for him to help himself. My little boy sometimes doesent eat much but then would drink more milk in the evening. Change in enviroment may also help, my little boy tends to eat more when hes not in his highchair, feeding snacks on the go in the pushchair on a walk, feeding a yogurt as he plays. Ive always worried about his weight as hes very small for his age, 17 months and wearing 9-12 month clothes so getting as much as i can into him has allways been a big thing for me.

Does he attend nursery? My little one eats secconds of everything there, even things he refuses at home!

@Mamawhy he constantly plays and doesnt sit down for a second so I'm cautious about food on the go due to choking. I can get him to sit for about 5mins if I put a tv programme on but he will eat some banana or the apple bake but then hes off running around again.
Hes now sitting in a booster seat at the table to try and help him focus more on eating instead of his highchair that he just played around with too much.
Hes 2 and only in 12-18 month old clothes which are even too big on him.

He's not at nursery yet. Hes home with me.

What concerns us most is now hes not pooing as much as he usually would which we know is down to him not eating. I'm thinking about calling the GP on Tuesday about it and start writing down everything he does eat so we can keep track. I just have no idea how he has the energy he does when all he ate today was 1/2 banana 2 strawberries 1 slice of bread not crusts and a few bites of pasta. (His Nana gave him 2 small hollow Easter eggs as well) we offered him food all day and he just shakes his head and says no.
He used to eat absolutely loads!
