Growing pains

Hi all,

My little girl is 3 and has been suffering terribly with what the doctor thinks is growing pains.

She's awake every single night hysterically crying her legs hurt, she holds her feet saying they hurt and her arms and hands. She suffers during the day doing too much and asks to be carried as her legs hurt her.

She was reffered to a paediatrician who says her physical exam seems fine and ordered some bloods to rule out any underlying issues.

I called the consultants secretary today for the results and she said the results are back but she needs to speak to the consultant and someone will call me back. Im obviously now panicking, or is this usual protocol?

If anyone has any tips on how to manage these pains it would be greatly appreciated, it has been going on months now.

Thank you x

Hi

Try not to panic, but wait for the phone call. If no one has called, by about 4pm, call them again.

Not with your issue, but I've been told that kind of thing 'they can't say' and it's been because they're never allowed to and once it was 'too serious' to be informed over the phone, once it was all in the 'normal range' but I was given the wrong information.

I now request copies of all results.

I hope you hear back soon x
