Am I over thinking?

Dear Daughter is 21 months. She has recently started with yet another nasty sounding cough. First one being the result of Covid.
This time it seems to be a lot worse. As it is affecting her sleep. She isn't napping much due to the cough and I end up seeing to her about 5 times a night due to her coughing.
Tonight she coughed so much she vomited everywhere.
She appeared okay in her self. But keeps coughing regularly and won't go back to sleep. Every time I've nearly had her asleep she has coughed and woke herself back up.

Am I over thinking that there is something else going on?
Im wanting to call the doctor when they open but at the same time I don't want to be told in just an over reacting mother. I get anxious at the thought of calling the doctor for fear of being told in just over reacting and they okay with a standard child illness.

You know your own child. The doctor will definitely say they can have a cough for months and that is normal for a child, but if you think it is more than that then it's down to you to advocate for them whether you seem silly or not, only you know your baby.
Mine have had many coughs at but you know what's serious or not. Like when they cry, as a mum you know it's 'I'm hingry' or want attention cry, compared to a 'I'm actually hurt' cry
