Persistent ringworm

Dd who is 9 now has really persistent ring worm despite treatment with cream everyday. We had to stop one which was causing reddening of skin as well as the rash. Can’t seem to get rid of it. Never had any problems in our other kids. Any suggestions!

Yes! The doctor gave me tablets plus cream and it went in no time! Get back to the GP 😃

We had similar situation with our DS. We though it was was ringworm and so did our doc. It kept coming back. dermatologist said it was actually skin lupus. The reoccurring patch was bright red with pale inner ring with burning and itching. Maybe ask to see a dermatologist if it keeps reoccurring

Did your daughter manage to get rid of the ringworm? I am in the same place where my sons ringworm was fading and now red again. It has taken so long to fade for it to restart now.

@Lushmetender did you manage to get rid of the rid of the persistent ringworm on your daughter. I am in a similar boat and it is draining.

I had this years ago and no treatment from the doctors worked. The only thing that finally shifted it was when I got crazy burnt in the sun! Not really helpful, I know - but maybe try and get her exposed to a bit of sun - weather here is miserable so might not be possible

@catinboooots thank you. Yes waiting for warmer weather. It has really affected mine and my sons life at the moment. Just so desperate for it to go away and never come back.

It could be discoid eczema rather than ringworm. Have you had skin samples taken of the affected areas?

catinboooots · 24/03/2023 01:35

How is it? Any better?

H4kunamatata · 27/03/2023 21:43

@catinboooots the ringworm spots have all gone black. We are going to see the dermatologist next week so hopefully understand what my son has got.
