My LG (11 months old) started out with a small rash at the beginning of March the back of her one leg which has quickly spread onto the whole of the back of her leg (but so far no further) and looks so painful and nasty.

We have seen two doctors who have both diagnosed two different things which isn't helpful. I'm going to take her to a boots pharmacist today and get their opinion. Just wondering what others think? And if they've seen similar.

Looks like my psoriasis! I have absolutely no medical background btw, but that is what my plaques look like.

I would ask for a referral to a dermatologist for that tbh.

Could it be infected eczema?

Infected eczema

Oh bless her.
What have you tried so far and what is the GP thinking?
Is paying to see a dermatologist privately an option?

First doctor said it was a viral rash and to leave it (wasn't half this bad when they said that) Second doctor said eczema and prescribed anti biotic/steroid cream (all in one) have been applying it since Thursday twice a day but rash is getting no better Sad and now seems to be hurting her when I'm applying cream. I'm going to call doctor again tomorrow and will ask for a dermatologist referral. Will look privately too, we have money but not loads. I will pay as much as I can afford to help her though because it's heartbreaking seeing her skin in this condition and not being able to help.

I would be tempted to find a private dermatologist, will be about £200 for appointment, but likely will be able to diagnose at that point and give suggestion on treatment. It's not like seeing a surgeon privately where you then need to pay for a thousands of pounds operation.
Hope it's sorted soon

(Of course can still talk with GP in meantime and take advise there, or ask for a NHS referral.)
